International Sailing Coach | Olympic Team Coach | Former Elite Athlete
With over 25 years of international coaching experience and more than 40 national and international medals under my guidance, I bring a deep commitment to high-performance sailing. My career began on the water at age 8 at the Hellenic Club of Greeks from Egypt, starting in the Optimist class and progressing to the Finn by age 16. From 1996 to 2001, I proudly represented Greece as a six-time national team member in the Finn class, earning multiple national medals and a bronze at the European Junior Championship in 1998.
In 1999, I transitioned to coaching—achieving immediate success. Within just one year at the Nautical Athletic League, I coached two national champions. This rapid success led to my recruitment by the prestigious Piraeus Sailing Club, where I was tasked with building a Laser team from the ground up. By 2007, the club had seven Laser sailors on national teams, including three in the pre-Olympic squad. By 2008, every member of the Hellenic Olympic Laser team originated from Piraeus SC—proof of the program's extraordinary success.
I served as a coach for the Greek National Sailing Team at the Olympic Games in Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008). Since 2013, With Nikitas we have led the sailing program at GNSC (ANOG), transforming it into one of the top Optimist & ILCA programs in the wo, built entirely from scratch.
My passion for the sport, combined with a structured coaching methodology and strong leadership skills, continues to help athletes reach peak performance on the world stage.

With 17 years of coaching experience and over 50 medals earned under my guidance at national and international levels, I bring deep expertise and passion to developing young sailing talent—especially in the Optimist class, where I specialize in coaching athletes of all levels.
My sailing career began early, and I proudly represented Greece as a 6-time National Team member across the Optimist, 420, and 470 classes. Among my top achievements as an athlete is a 4th place finish at the European 470 Championship, along with several national championship medals.
I began coaching in the late 2000s and quickly developed a strong reputation for producing results. Over the past decade, I have consistently served as a National Coach for the Greek Optimist team, leading athletes to top performances in major events. I tailor my coaching strategies to match the individual needs and goals of each sailor—focusing not only on technique and racing but also on personal growth, strategic thinking, and resilience.
With a background in Naval Architecture, I incorporate technology and innovation into my training methods—continually improving programs to stay ahead of the curve. I’ve also contributed as a coach and program leader in the #OptimistClinics in Greece and abroad, helping raise the standard of training globally.
My mission is to develop complete sailors—through a balance of hard work, innovation, and passion for the sport.
